The Cologne Immigrant Session is a variety show in the style of a cabaret carnival performance, held annually at the Bürgerhaus Stollwerck. The approximately three-hour program, with its ironic wit and sharp humor, delves into social life and Cologne's carnival from the perspective of newcomers. It combines cabaret, variety, comedy, satire, and stand-up, and even incorporates dance to explore cultural differences. The band provides live music and vocals. Support comes from "The Fat One" and "The Frenchman," two puppet characters who appear throughout the show and never mince words.

The ensemble, comprised of performers from around the world, chooses the topics they address themselves. With a healthy dose of self-irony, they bring to the stage questions that no one else can or wants to address, but which are clearly on the minds of the artists.
